We managed the commercial exhibits for the World Aquatics Championships, showcasing brands to 150,000 people in a 16-day festival.

Case

Iventions managed the sponsor exhibits for the World Aquatics Championships in Barcelona, including sponsors like Nikon, Kazan, FC Barcelona, Speedo, Estrella, Yakult and Tokyo2020. This Hospitality Village saw more than 150,000 guests during a 16-day festival, engaging brands with local and international sports’ fans. This was the largest sports’ event in Spain that year and the most important competition of the disciplines of FINA.

We worked together with individual clients to showcase their brand in a creative and innovative manner. After designing the greatly successful UEFA Champion’s League Finals ‘Champions Village’, including sponsor booths, at the Allianz Arena, we now generated fun stands and branded experiences at the World Aquatics Championships Village. The Olympic Venue provided a stunning environment for beautiful sponsors, for which we created hospitality suites, sponsor tents, product displays, sponsoring engagement zones and all other promotional needs, tailored to the clients’ individual wishes.

Work process

Iventions transformed the iconic Olympic Venue into an experiential area, full of captivating branded booths and sponsor tents. Each tent held their own unique atmosphere. For Nikon, for example, we created a special photography interior, including a studio and photo activities. For Kazan, we built a branded hospitality lounge. Then for sports club FC Barcelona, we customised an exclusive fan shop. With Yakult, we focused on creating a clean look, matching the style of their sample products. The big set-up we built for Speedo functioned as a fully efficient retail shop. These exhibits all concentrated on the specific brand, showcasing their appeal to a large audience.

The World Aquatics Championships provided a central and social function in Barcelona for two weeks, resulting in a huge audience for brands participating. We closely listened to each client’s wishes, ensuring them engagement with the 150k guests of the biggest sports’ event of that year. The Hospitality Village we coordinated was built according to local Spanish regulations, in which we produced on-site logistic management, accreditation and hostesses and the full security. For the exhibit pavilions we managed all aspects, from graphic elements, to promotional material and interior design, delivering outstanding service.
